Promoting Awareness on Food Waste and How to Limit it

FOOD WASTE is any food or inedible parts that are disposed, typically foods or a part of the food that are served but not eaten.about one-third of the world's food is thrown away. A 2021 meta-analysis that did not include food lost during production, by the United Nations Environment Programme found that food waste was a challenge in all countries at all levels of economic development.

FOOD WASTE MANAGEMENT on the other hand is an approach that seeks to reduce wasted food. It is a movement that aims to reduce the possibility of food waste when it comes to consuming foods.

1. KNOW WHAT YOU EAT

It is important to know the nutritional value of the food that you eat.

It is a common assumption when it comes to fast food that is "unhealthy". In order to identify the nutritional contents of the food, we provided information on the food that we reviewed. This is also to break the perception that not all fast foods are unhealthy, as some of their menus provide a healthy choices.

The food reviews we conducted will help you decide what food to eat based on your taste preference and nutritional value awareness. In this way, you can save yourself from ordering the food that you might not like, and will help in reducing food waste or leftovers.

2.  MINIMIZING FOOD WASTE

Food waste will always be unavoidable, the best we can do is to lessen the possibility of it and make what you supposedly call “food waste” into something not wasteful. Instead of throwing it away, use it in something beneficial. Segregate the parts you can salvage and reuse them. Here are some examples:

 -COMPOST MATERIAL-

Organic discards can be processed in industrial-scale composting facilities. Composting successfully is just a matter of using the right combination of materials to achieve the best ratio of carbon to nitrogen and maintaining the right amounts of air and water to yield the best results.

-SAVING LEFTOVERS-

If you don't think you will be able to eat your leftovers within three days, store them in the freezer and label them. You can recook those dishes and add some new ingredients to spice it up.
